I got the dreaded red light telling me this one was too long. So out went a photo of Omar Uresti.
As always, I invite you to sign up if you haven’t to receive the weekly edition. Paid subscriptions and gift options are available too.
Or give a gift subscription. Because it’s that time of year.
A special Thanksgiving edition of the weekly News & Notes is available to all so check it out here.
As always, I’d point you to The Quadrilateral info site to answer questions (though it’ll be getting a year-end refresh soon), or the subscribe option for The Quadrilateral. Thanks to all for the support and Happy Thanksgiving!
As part of his series on the great golf architects, Andy Johnson had me on the Fried Egg podcast to discuss George Thomas, aka The Captain who I wrote a biography of in (gulp) 1996! Hope you enjoy.

I always enjoy chatting with PGA pro Keith Stewart, whose show airs on ESPN 920 a.m. in New Jersey and is full of smart questions from the host, who is moonlighting from his work as an instructor.
I hope you enjoy the chat as we try to make sense of the various moving pieces in golf, from the Saudis to amateur status ramifications to whether pandemic bounce is sustainable.
I joined Tom Mills and Sam Williams for a wide-ranging chat on everything from state of the game issues to vodka Pimms and bunch of things in between.
Hopefully you’ve seen some of the wonderful video profiles of courses and have signed up for their occasional newsletter to keep up with this non-British but British take on the game. Recent pods have included Zac Blair discussing his recent Heathlands trip, Matt Faldo and Keith Wood discussing the Faldo Series, along with their “diaries” issues that make for great listens.
This week’s News and Notes already landed via email but here is the weekly free edition brimming with joyful anecdotes about the biggest events in golf. Included this week are some thoughts on the sneaky-huge ramifications of PGA Tour players taking initiative on the skill discussion, plus notes on Ryder Cup shirts of yesteryear, next year’s Women’s Open finally securing official tournament dates, a dreamy view of the Old Course up for sale and more.
As always, you can get a better understanding of what The Quad is about here or sign up for free here.
Koepka responded, says he’s ago and Bryson has made a mess of his hands prepping for the upcoming Long Drive.
All of that plus TV notes and schedules, Golf Channel’s 2008 Ryder Cup doc and notes about cheap tickets and good eats in Sheboygan. It’s a doozy of a Quadrilateral so sign up or upgrade to paid so you don’t miss next week’s daily coverage of the Ryder Cup. And if you’re new to the whole newsletter thing, here is the Quad’s homepage.
Andrew Coltart’s a six-time European Tour winner, former Ryder Cupper, current Sky Sports commentator and proud Scotsman. He joined Rod Morri, Mike Clayton and yours truly to discuss all things Ryder Cup and a little Solheim Cup as well. I think you’ll really enjoy this one, especially some of Coltart’s insights into this year’s team.
You can give Andrew a Twitter follow here. He will be in Wisconsin next week covering the event for Sky Sports.
