Tiger-Spieth Prez Cup Pairing Not Looking Likely

Bob Harig on Tiger's Presidents Cup Tuesday press conference where it's looking increasingly unlikely that a pairing with Jordan Spieth will happen in the foursomes or four-ball competitions.

Some were hoping a pairing with the rookie would inject some free-swinging life into Woods' unusually-mechanical game.

Last year at the Ryder Cup, Woods partnered three times with Steve Stricker and went 0-3, then got a half in his singles match against Francesco Molinari. Two years ago in Australia, Woods went 2-3 with a singles victory over Aaron Baddeley. He was 3-1 at the Ryder Cup in Wales in 2010 and 5-0 at the Presidents Cup in San Francisco in 2009, where he went 4-0 with Stricker as his partner.

Stricker again appears to be a strong possibility for Woods, along with Matt Kuchar and Jason Dufner.

John Strege says Tiger's mood brightens when talking Kuchar and Dufner, which would further suggest they will be partnering with the World No. 1.
