Oy Vey: PGA Tour Players Insist They Must Be Better Informed When The Next Big Rules Decision Comes Down

Rex Hoggard talked to the anchorers or those who represent them and it seems the PGA Tour players really wanted to make sure we all knew they were left out of the loop (totally ridiculous), and that they won't let it happen again (shouldn't they worried about making more birdies?).

It wasn’t the USGA and R&A’s move against anchoring, or a desire to save the long putter, that riled many players and administrators so much as it was a feeling the rule makers are increasingly making rules from a vacuum.

“I don’t think they will ever make a ruling by themselves again,” Ogilvie said. “I’ve been on Tour a long time and I have never heard this kind of animosity toward the R&A and USGA. Professional golf didn’t have a voice at the table.”

Dammit where is the ability to set these posts to some good, somber Wagner!?

I'm going to only say this once more...this month: the PGA Tour has a staff member sitting on two USGA committees or real importance related to anchoring and distance. Unless Commissioner Moonbeam isn't sharing the details of what he learns either from his reps or from the 300 social occasions he interacts with these people annually, there is no reason for anyone at the PGA Tour to suggest they will be totally caught off guard when there is a distance rollback proposal. None!

Capice?
