PGA Prez Bishop: Bifurcation Was The Talk Of PGA Show

PGA of America President Ted Bishop told SiriusXM's Matt Adams in this short clip from Tuesday's show that he's all for bifurcation of the rules, that splitting the pro game from the regular game's rules would be his preference and that this was the talk of the PGA Show.

Unfortunately, I didn't hear any mention the possibility of restoring more skill in the professional game and ending the chase for 8,000 yard courses as just as important an outcome as helping hacks. Because otherwise, changing the rules without impacting the way the elite game is played--and trying to reduce the footprint of golf--is totally unnecessary since no one is required to make USGA/R&A conforming clubs now.

Just ask Taylor Made, which introduced non-conforming clubs at the show and I've yet to hear of anyone holding it against them.
