Secondary Ticket Prices Down 61% At Tiger-less Pinehurst

You wouldn't know it looking at the lines just to get in the merchandise pavillion, but at least one measure of the Tiger effect suggests Woods' absence is having an economic impact.

Triangle Business Journal's Jason deBruyn reports that Tiger's absence has driven down secondary market U.S. Open ticket prices at Pinehurst.

deBruyn writes:

The average U.S. Open ticket on the secondary market goes for $106, a whopping 61 percent less than last year, when Woods did participate, according to data from TicketCity, a secondary market for sports and other entertainment events.
